The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe SUV has been caught in the wild once again by our spy photographers. As before, the BMW X4-fighter has been spotted wearing a healthy amount of camouflage especially to its front and rear ends.

But unlike the regular variant we showed you before, the images here are clearly of the hotter GLC 450 AMG Coupe variant, making this another addition to Mercedes-AMG?s new range of ?sports models? positioned just beneath their full-blown AMG range.

Giving it away as the AMG sports model are the obvious similarities between this and the larger GLE 450 AMG Coupe. Particularly, the single-bar radiator grille, aggressive exterior body kit and split exhaust system with faux quad exhaust finishers are all too familiar.
The W205 C-Class-based SUV will also benefit from Mercedes-Benz?s new nine-speed 9G-Tronic torque converter automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive system, the latter ensuring a 40:60 torque split between the front and rear axles.

With that being the case, it?s almost certain the vehicle you see here is also fitted a 3.0 litre biturbo V6 engine, with power figures that should match the GLE 450 AMG?s 367 hp/500 Nm
To recap, the GLC SUV is essentially a replacement for the discontinued Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class ? a model that we never saw in Malaysia because a right-hand-drive version was never made. The arrival of the GLC changed this by introducing a RHD model, just as we saw in Indonesia, recently.

But while the regular GLC squares off against the likes of the BMW X3, the GLC Coupe is a more fitting match for the BMW X4, both of which giving customers the option of a four-door SUV, with the styling traits of a coupe.
Engines for the GLC Coupe should be common with the regular GLC, forming a petrol and diesel line-up that includes the GLC 250, GLC 300, GLC 220d, and GLC 250d. A level up from there sees you arrive at the GLC 450 AMG Coupe you see here, while it is possible for Mercedes-AMG to reveal a GLC 63 Coupe at some point in the future, as the outright range-topping GLC Coupe.
